Glossary: Bolt Width

**Bolt Width** is the standardized transverse width of a commercial fabric roll, commonly 48, 54, or 60 inches in the US, and 140 cm in metric regions.

Fabric Roll Sizing

Width dictates layout panel yields. Fabric is unrolled and cut along the warp. If the panel size exceeds bolt width, splicing or railroading is required.
