A standard 4x8 sheet covers exactly 32 square feet. For metric calculations, a standard 1.2m x 2.4m board covers 2.88 square meters.

A standard 4x12 sheet covers 48 square feet. It is commonly used on high ceilings or long walls to reduce the number of joints.

Greenboard is water-resistant gypsum board designed for high-humidity areas like bathrooms. Standard drywall has non-water-resistant paper face for dry living areas.
